Scottish Rowing
One of my favourite briefs that I worked on was to design a kit for the Scottish Rowers to wear whilst training in Tokyo before being chosen for the Olympic Games 2021.
This was such an exciting opportunity because of the scale of the competition as well as the high standard of the athletes. The brief was quite open allowing me to portray what I thought would best represent Scotland in Tokyo.
Unfortunately my designs were not chosen for the Scottish competitors to wear during their training for the Olympic games in Tokyo 2021 as the team decided upon a design that showcased a more Japanese style. However, the Scottish team were still very impressed with my designs and asked if I could design merchandise and kit for them to wear whilst competing around Scotland.
I continued with the traditional Scottish aspect of my designs focusing on the map of Scotland, the Saltire and an original 'Scottish Rowing' clan tartan. To ensure that the garments could be easily recognised and seen from a distance I ensured the designs were of a larger scale.
