The Sudanese Community in Glasgow (SCG) wanted very unique strips that represented their culture, and so I began to research traditional sudanese patterns that I could incorporate into my designs. I began by experimenting with the patterns around the collar and sleeves, however quickly realised that this area was too small to highlight the full beauty of these patterns and so began to position them on a larger scale.
